The Senior DevOps Engineer will work with application developers to automate and accelerate the development, testing, deployment, and release of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. They will be providing continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment and have experience with the core suite of tools used to manage cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, Atlassian, jFrog, and others. The ideal candidate will have a background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations.

Essential Functions
- Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud architecture, adhering to best practices around scalability, security, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud environment aligns with business requirements.
- Continuous Delivery Solutions:
- Provide continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment (Bitbucket, jFrog, Azure, AWS, etc.).[EA1]
- Automate deployment pipelines, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
- Proof of Concept and Evaluation:
- Conduct appropriate proof of concept and evaluation activities to validate proposed solutions.
- Ensure feasibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Technology Assessment and Adoption:
- Continually assess new cloud technologies and DevOps tools.
- Guide teams in adopting the latest practices and tools.
- Development Support:
- Collaborate with development teams during solution implementation.
- Assist with focused development activities as needed.
- Mentoring and Guidance:
- Mentor other engineers, sharing your expertise and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance to our technical support, engineering, sales, and marketing teams.
- Process Improvement:
- Participate in the continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Enhance productivity and efficiency across the organization.
- Technical Escalations and Issue Resolution:
- Serve as a point of contact for technical escalations.
- Resolve complex technical issues promptly and effectively.
Essential Tasks
- Write product/project documentation as required.
- Develop ISO procedures related to DevOps and ensure that both Engineering and MiTek standards, procedures and policies are maintained.
- Responsible for critical testing and triaging of problems prior to, and during, product validation.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering w/ Computer Science (or equivalent)
EXPERIENCE
One to three years’ experience working in environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
One to three years' experience in architecting Software-as-a-Service (Saas) models.
One to three years' experience in machine learning and working with large data sets in a cloud environment.
One to three years' experience with scripting ability with Bash or other languages like Python.
One to three years' experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket pipeline, Azure pipelines, Jenkins.
One to three years’ experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana.
Skills
- Experience supporting security initiatives in cloud environments.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and Puppet.
- Experience with over the air updates and in-depth knowledge of build/release systems and processes.
- Experience in architecting, estimating costs and solutions built on cloud-based infrastructure.
- Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with linters and static code analysis tools.
- Deep understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems, IP network technologies, package management, and DNs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
