AtlasIED is excited to receive a Commercial Integration Award from Commercial Integrator (CI) Magazine for the Best Mission Critical Project for 2023 and its role in the LaGuardia Terminal B renovation project. Read the official award news announcement here.
CI’s Integration Awards honor immersive and experiential AV projects that integrators have created over the past year. With 11 categories, including Best Higher Education and Best Corporate Campus projects, CI determined the winners through a panel of judges to determine which projects deserve recognition. This CI Integration Award is just one more in a list of awards for the LaGuardia Terminal B renovation project, which has received global recognition for its transformation, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) highly competitive and prestigious 2021 Prix Versailles award for the world’s best new airport and the National Academy of Construction’s Special Achievement Award.
LaGuardia Terminal B required an audio and mass communications system to match its world-class aspirations as part of the upgrade. With passenger experience and safety shared priorities, the updated terminal presented an opportunity to reimagine its communications, and the airport’s team of engineers, architects, and audiovisual consultants turned to a company and technology it had extensive experience with, AtlasIED and its GLOBALCOM® communications platform.
In this project, integrators at MKJ Communications integrated the GLOBALCOM system with the airport fire evacuation and alarm system. In previous installations, these were discrete systems managed by different vendors and user groups. By integrating these systems, they were able to streamline the installation process and better coordinate communication activities with passengers.
We’re honored for the recognition by Commercial Integrator and congratulate the other integrators and companies who received awards.
